Tracy,
I've had same problem on a few cars. Solution is to
have the hole welded up, grind the surface flat, then
drill a new hole. Never had a failure.

Subject: Oblong clevis pin holes in pedal box
I have an oblong hole where the master cylinder rod
attaches to the
foot
pedal. I replaced the clevis pins in both the brake
and clutch pedals
but
alas still some play on the one causing annoying
little thumps when the
clutch engages and another (often delayed) when
released.
What is the defacto repair for this?
