For those not familiar with Olancha, here's a bit gleaned from a
Google search. Olancha is in Kern County at the jucntion of Highway
395 and 178, below the southern end of the Owens Valley. Gateway to
the Sierras and to Death Valley. Ridgecrest/Inyokern is probably the
nearest civilization. For someone in the northern parts of Los
Angeles County it would be a doable trip in a morning.
