On this subject, I have to relate my experience with Condon &
Skelly Collector car insurance (Div of Metlife Auto and Home) they have
insured my cars for several years-never a hassle with agreed values, full
coverage, $0 deductible, etc. and the total premiums are about 1/3 of what
my "regular" daily driver insurance costs. Normal collector car insurance
type restrictions-2500 annual miles and kept in a locked garage (Note-all it
takes is a call or letter saying I am going to exceed the 2500 miles this
year, because I am driving to conclave or Healey encounter, and they have no
problem with that)
About 5 years ago, I banged the BJ8 and the Bugeye together,
(long story) resulting in a claim for two cars, one driver. I called in the
claim, and they said to get an estimate for repair-"just one", I asked, "or
do I have to get three or so"-"Nope, just one", they say-so, I got estimates
for both cars, and faxed them the estimate-then, about a week or ten days
goes by, and I figure I am going to have to call and and start harassing the
reps for action, when I get a check in the mail for the total estimate on
both cars-no more forms to fill out, no questions to endure, and most
importantly, no increase in premiums.
Needless to say, I still have them today.
