Lucas Sports Coil OIL

I ran this coil on a TR3 for a year.The coil was in the upright position  
and ran just fine.
Two weeks ago I put it on my BJ8.The car runs much stronger when it is  
cold.  Got rid of popping back through the carburetor.  Carbs are set on  
the lien side. And runs very well when up to temperature.
What the coil is doing is leaking oil out of the coil wire opening, and  
all over the generator.
Is there a fix for this or is this coil not supposed to be ran in the  
horizontal position.
