I'm getting a real kick outta this thread. I thought I was the only one
carrying a petrol "confidence" dipstick in the boot!

Mark. I went to the trouble of going to the station on fumes and adding one
gallon at a time while putting the new measuring stick at each new gallon. I
came up with a very accurate dip stick. I use it mainly on long trip when I
want to be very sure I don't run out of petrol somewhere on a lonely road. I
could send the measurements if anyone wants to make one. Cheers, JL
