I hate to admit it, ......but I've done that.  I was in Tampa all one summer
on business about 20 years ago, and had a convertible rental car. --The
weather there in the dead of summer is absolutely miserable. 98% humidity and
105 degrees.  Frigging awful. --But it's nice to get the sun, and a sin to
waste a convertible top. ---So with a car with air conditioning, you could be
cool, and more importantly, remain reasonably dry, by running the AC and
having the windows up.
Yeah, it looks incredibly stupid. --But it's self preservation, for a northern
boy in FL in early august.
Honestly, If I owned the Healey in FL, or New Orleans I'd probably mainly
drive it in the winter.  --I've nearly had heat stroke in it, a couple of
times, in high humidity 100+ days here in RI a couple of times over the
years.
