Dave Russell summed it up pretty good. I fashioned a "hook" from a bent
flat screwdriver.
The trick part is getting the new seal in. I made two "drifts" from
1/8" steel rods that I
ground flat on one end, and used one to hold one side of the seal while
I tapped on the
other, and vice versa.
Be sure you get the correct seal. Moss (last I checked) sells a thinner
seal (green) from
Chicago Rawhide that's about 1/8" thick. The correct one is about 1/4"
thick. I've heard
you can stack two of the thinner washers, but get the correct one if you
can (I got a couple
from Healey Haven, maybe BCS has them).
