I've also heard that Englsh hydraulic parts require LMA, though I have used both DOT 3 and 4 of various brands with no problems. Castrol claims a bit higher boiling point for LMA than DOT 3 or 4 specs. Castrol also makes a "Special Racing Fluid" (SRF. also called Liquid Gold because of the price of approximately $70/quart) that has a MUCH higher boiling temperature--somewhere in excess of 600 degress though this is no doubt overkill for a road car.
