That'd probably be me.
HVLP (high volume low pressure) is going to require just that , a good air
compressor that has the capability to at least keep up the CFM of air being
used by the gun. I can get specs on my guns from the shop tomorrow if you
want. I have an older Cambell Hausefield 60 gal 5 hp motor with a new pump
and it does just fine. I do have an 80 gal 2 stage which will be hooked up
in the new shop when I move.
The smaller 60 gal compressors arent that much money sell here (USA) for
about $400. or so. If you are serious about your restoration you will need a
compressor of at least this size for a bead blast cabnet. It will work for
that application but not on a professional level.
Bigger is better for this one I'm afraid, you definalty dont want to be
waiting for you compressor to play catch up while painting your top coat on
a labour intensive body prep job.
