I am at the "Brake Lines to the frame " installation stage on my BT7.
I have new metal clips that hold the lines to the frame and also plastic
clips that came with my copper/nickel brake lines. The plastic clips seem
like a nice way to block the holes in the frame as well as hold the lines in
place, but the holes need to be drilled out larger. And the neon green color
looks so hi tech. (what were they thinking) The original clips seem to be
an offer for water to enter the frame box and cause a rusting problem later
on. I suppose I could shoot a dab of black silicone in the holes to surround
the clips to seal them off. Back in the olden days when these cars had to be
driven in the Snow, these frame holes must have made the frame "up keep" ,
hell. I guess we're the ones paying for that now, :(
Has any one else used any other means to secure the brake lines in place.
Concourse is not an issue on this car.
Thanks, Mark
