Competition Sports Car Club to run autocross at OpenRoads 2006 Tahoe British
car meet





SUNNYVALE CA - May 8, 2006 --  The Competition Sports car Club of Sacramento
(CSCS) will run the autocross at the upcoming OpenRoads All-British Weekend at
Lake Tahoe.  The exciting British car meet is hosted by the Golden Gate Austin
Healey Club, and will be held  June 9 to 11, 2006 at the Horizon Casino and
Resort in Stateline NV on Lake Tahoe's South Shore.  CSCS has run the
autocross events at the two previous OpenRoad events held in  2002 and 2004 at
the Horizon at Tahoe.



          The OpenRoads autocross will be set up in the open parking and
vehicle-storage area behind the host hotel.  The event will start at 9 AM
Saturday June 10 and will run throughout the afternoon.  Drivers will be able
to run as many times as possible.  A total of nine awards will be presented at
the Awards Banquet that evening.  These awards will be for first, second and
third places in three categories:  Sprites and Midgets; 4-cylinder cars, and
6-cylinder cars.



CSSC will give a technical inspection by officials from CSCC prior to the
trials.    All participants will be required to wear a helmet, and CSCS will
make some helmets available for use at the time of the meet.  Driver attending
for only the day will be able to run through the autocross for a fee of $30.



Other activities at the OpenRoads 2006 All-British weekend include:



7        Friday, June 9:      Registration and reception at the Horizon.
Dinner will be on your own.



7        Saturday, June 10: In addition to the autocross, The Reno MG All
British Car Club will host a tour to Virginia City.  The tour runs throughout
the day and runs up Kingsbury Grade to Genoa NV, the state's oldest town,
through Carson City and up to Virginia City with its historic saloons, shops
and mining museums.  Participants can also take a ride on the rebuilt Virginia
and Truckee Railroad.  The return to the Horizon via the Geiger Grade, over
Mt. Rose famous for its outstanding view of Lake Tahoe, and pass through
Incline Village on the east shore of the Lake.



7        Saturday, June 10: Starting at 6 PM, the Golden Gate Austin Healey
Club will host an Awards Banquet at the hotel.



7        Sunday, June 11:     Starting at 9 AM there will be a car show where
all attendees will have a chance to display their cars.  Cars will be parked
by marque.  Awards will be presented at 12 Noon.  Departure follows.



          Price for the weekend is $55 per registration and includes two
adults and one car.  Additional cars or adults attendees are $25 each.  There
is no registration charge for children under 15.  Supplemental charges include
a $30 charge per car for the autocross, and a $48 charge per person for the
awards dinner ($30 for those under 15).  Golden Gate has arranged for rooms at
the Horizon at $95 per night (single or double); $105 triple occupancy; $115
(four).  Taxes are not included.
