  Dave:  You may have the forwardmost lever facing down instead of up.  I 
did the same thing, but caught it before the car was on the road.  See the 
diagram in the shop manual, Figure 5 section E3.  Its quite clear.  None of 
the clutch linkage should hang below the bottom of the frame rail.
