Hello Alan,
I noticed your posting to the Healey automotive list regarding the original
Donald Healey Motor Company small cloisonni shield badge that is fitted to
the BJ7 and BJ8 works hardtops only.
The original manufacturer was W. Reeves. Tenby Street. Birmingham. UK.
About 18 years ago I purchased about fifty of these badges from them, and as
far as I am aware they are still in business.
The earlier hardtops that were manufactured by Watsonian sidecar Company did
not have these badges fitted. Another sidecar manufacturer that produced the
"Swallow" sidecar from Blackpool by the name of Bill Lyons was to become World
famous as Jaguar cars.Truly brilliant engineer as his XK engine powered
everything from the C and D type race winning competition cars to the road
saloons like the XJ6, the XKE up to the Scorpion tracked fighting tank, but
then again so did Mr Rolls and Mr Royce's beautiful Merlin Spitfire engine.
Regards.
David.
