Greg,

Hmmmmmm.  My '54 BN1 averages 27 mpg - 29 on longer highway trips.
I use 91 octane - have an electronic ignition - 5 speed - 3:54 rear end and
DW head.   Speedo shows 70 mph @ 2800 rpm in 5th gear.
