After messing with my trafficator many times when I first got my car six years
ago or so, I decided that intermittent operation was the best I was going to
do. But last year the thing went from working about 80% of the time for a
left turn to maybe 25%, right turns were a consistent 95% or so.
Anyway, with the worse performance decided it wast time to monkey with the
thing once again.
EUREKA! the little U shaped copper slide that goes on the back of the arm of
the turn signal switch was the culprit.
It had gone slightly concave in shape over time, I bent it so it is slightly
convex, or the ends that make contact with the left and right turn signal
wires and the main contact in the middle to complete the circuit stick out
sightly instead of curving away from what they are supposed to touch.
So far seems to be working everytime. Only question is will the thing bend
back with use.
Hope this can be of help to others.
