I was watching History Channel last night and the show was "Gunnie Ermey"
(of Mailcall fame) in Vietnam and talking to and about US POWs and their
experiences in captivity. I was watching idly while perusing my new copy of
Bill Piggott's book when I heard something that grabbed my attention. One of
the ex POWs said that he killed some of his time while in prison by drawing
a picture of an Austin Healey engine. He showed his drawing and it appeared
that he had quite an intimate knowledge of the old lump. I assume he was one
of those airmen who got interested in sports cars while stationed in England
and possibly patronized DHM. I did not catch his name, but wonder if anyone
might know who he is and if he is a member of the Healey fraternity.
