I have a complete electronic fuel injection and engine management system
installed in my BJ8.
If you are considering EFI, remember that there is a lot more to the system
than merely plugging in an injector or two. A properly designed and safe to
drive system must have at a minimum:
Recirculating fuel supply
High pressure fuel pump with high pressure fuel lines
Large in line fuel filter
Fuel pressure regulator
Programmable computer with logging functions
Air temperature sensor
Engine temperature sensor
Throttle position sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor
Fuel pressure gauge
A crankshaft position sensor/rpm sensor
Other helpful additions:
Low pressure fuel pump to feed the high pressure pump
Oxygen sensor, either wide band or narrow band, depending on computer
capabilities
Vented fuel cell
Mass air sensor, if you want to design the system for throttle transition
based on air mass instead of manifold absolute pressure
Vacuum gauge
Air box
Make sure you understand the proposed system and how it is designed to work.
