Jorge -
I have never known the Pertonix units to go bad in this way (I've been using
Pertronix for 15 years and had only one unit go bad when the rotor magnet
assembly delaminated and broke apart, otherwise the pickup unit has never
failed). I'm sure you are focusing on the wrong problem.
Try disconnecting the B/W wire from your battery cut off switch in the boot
and covering the open wire with some electrical tape. Once you've done
that, then try starting it again. If it starts, it means your battery cut
off switch is bad. This is a very common problem, especially if your healey
has sat for a while.
If that doesn't work, try replacing the two fuses in the fuse box, and
disconnecting and reconnecting the wires on your ignition switch, coil and
disty. Maybe the connections have some simple surface corrosion on it.
Best Regards,
Alan
