Doug
The centershift transmission had been fitted to the Mk II roadsters for some 7
months before the introduction of the BJ 7 in the late summer of 62. The
centershift roadster interior trim was carried over to the new model, except
for the "convertible bits" ie: dash top, door trim, rear seat back &
quarters.
And for the first time the columns for Yellow trim were not seen in the "Paint
and Trim Colour Chart for Austin Healey BJ 7 (A 7185)". These are the
factory spec sheets that document and date the color and trim changes. There
is no delete point listed for yellow trim in the BN-BT-7 sheets. Its just not
there anymore on the BJ 7 sheet, suggesting that the Primrose colour simply
wasn't carried over to the Convertible. There IS, however, a note on the BJ 8
sheet stating "Color schemes 5 & 6 (both Florida Green) deleted and Color
Schemes 18 and 19 (both Metallic Golden Beige) added on 6 / 1 / 67".
In other words, Rich, a mid-run delete like your Feb/ 60 would have been
documented in the sheets.
Best regards
Peter
