That's because you've never driven in Hong Kong!
Hong Kong is as big as Rhode Island - it takes almost two hours to drive all
the way to the Chinese border from downtown... winding mountain roads along
the coast with wide open views of the South China Sea the whole way. Once
at the end, it's another 30 minute hike to my favorite deserted beach (you
can see my baby on the beach here: http://seigrist.blogspot.com/).
Only 7% of Hong Kong's land is developed... that's the part you're probably
thinking of. I drive my healey in the other 93%!
