an operator for calls outside  of your normal area)
 
Yeah, i remember that era very well 'cause my mother and 4 sisters  were all 
operators for Southern Bell. Of course i would just ask for someone  phone by 
name only. 


"Those were the days" but there were no Healeys at that time. And yes I am  
that old.
