As you can see, I wrote this sometime ago when our
Gov. was no "Girly-Man".

Subject: Healey Ain't No "Girly-Man's" Car / Morocco

1960/61, I was in Morocco checking out the "hairy-women"
while in the USAF.. Would'nt that be any "harry-chested"
"ham-fisted", red blooded American GI's main focus ?

Main mission was crew on one of Gen. LeMay's (SAC) B-47's
uploaded with "The Bomb" (the other 'N' word) and ready to fly
 further East.

One week we were on duty two days (24 hrs), the next week,
five days (24 hrs) waiting for the klaxon horn to sound sending us
 to W-- (the NW word).

On one of our long days off, we flew in a Gooney Bird (C-47) to
Maron AFB, Seville Spain where I met up with a friend who was
on his days off. He had a Red BN6 and no money. I had money,
no BN-6. We made a deal, I would purchase a gas ration coupon
book at the class-6 store on base and we would black market half
of it for what I paid for the full book on our way to Seville for the
weekend. Free gas, such a deal. I also agreed to fund all expenses
in Seville in exchange for his tour guide expertise and use of his,
Manly-Girl-Catching Roadster. AND YES WE DID !!!!!

And-Now, the rest of the story.

After some time, back in Morocco, and puff (harry) chesting about
my days/nights in Seville and the Red Healey (my first Healey experience)
I was told I was wanted at the Alert Hanger. Upon entering the hanger,
I was introduced to a guy with one star on his collar (air division
commander) who shall remain nameless but very "ham-fisted" and
(I assume) "harry-chested". You know, the guy who did, Hiroshima.

I was told, that since I knew ALL about Austin Healey's I was to accompany
the "ham-fisted" "harry-chested" "one-stared" dude along with his driver to
 Rabat, the capatol of Morocco.

To make a long story shorter, we went, we picked up, a white Sprite at the
local Healey dealer (I'm sure one of Bic Healey's dealers as he was in
charge of military sales for DMHMC) and I drove it back to the air base.
The sprite was placed on a wood bomb-bay cargo rack, tied down, uploaded
into the B-47 and off they went to points West.

On July 26, 1961 I departed Morocco for McCoy AFB Orlando, Florida.
 On July 28, 1961 I was the proud owner of a 1960 BT-7 #6613.

At that time, I became very "harry-chested" and all the other things that
can be attributed to owning and driving an Austin Healey, and still am 43
years later, on Wednesday of next week
