Simon,
The correct jack is red/orange, and has the following markings:

CA 265
   BH

Shelley
L
J
2
2
5

And on the top, CA 311

I have mine on the desk in front of me, and will take a couple of pictures and
send then separately

  Subject: Which Shelley jack?

  Hi,

Ive always had an old bottle type jack in my MkII BT7. I borrowed it
from
the army many years ago. It was original to the so-called = and > ton Land
Rovers that we had in such large quantities. (those rovers were good bits
  of kits).

So, this jack greatly resembles photos Ive seen of the correct factory
issue jack, though Id say it is heavier duty.

This afternoon a friend gave me another. This one is red and, unlike mine,
is clearly marked Shelley. (Id say this one is heavier than the
original&,
like mine, it has three levels which seems a bit excessive) It has a two
piece extension bar and is, I suppose, missing a t-bar to go through the
end
of the bar. Am I right there?

What should be stamped on the correct jack?

  What colour?

What exactly does it look like? A picture would be great.

  Anything else?

  Thanks,

  Simon.
