Dear Kirk,

I think that the problem is the dissimilar metals have bonded together. If
you put the Head in an Ultrasonic Cleaner similar to the one Dentists use
only much larger, the cavitation will force the liquid that is in the "Bath"
to literally blast away any bond that is between the threads. It may be
difficult to find a bath that size, but if you cannot loosen up the plugs, I
have an Ultrasonic Bath that will accommodate the head. I have cleaned my
BJ8 Head when my engine was rebuilt 10 years ago. I am not trying to
solicit business, but am willing to help out a fellow Healey owner

I have been on a cruise, so I am just now reading the Healey List, so sorry
for the delay.

Hey Ed,

I could use some of this (I've never heard-of) secret sauce you are touting.
As you know, I am working my way through all the rusted, crudded, etc.
parts removed from the BT7 I found in a junk yard a couple weeks ago.
Liquid Wrench, Aero-Kroil, Nuts-Off, are not working doing the job.

What do you suggest for removing steel (servo boss & vacuum take off) plugs
from (N/A) aluminum tri-carb manifolds that have moderate corrosion.
I've been soaking them in the above for several days, no cigar.
Maybe some heat to the aluminum ??? if so what method to use ???

My plan for re-hab of these manifolds is, blast the bodies, resurface the
mating surfaces, polish the ports.

Suggestions from other listers welcomed too.

Camino's live !!!
