Jack,

The metal frame that attaches to the glass (see the recent glazing rubber
thread) has plastic guides (runner door glass (nylon) AHB 9499). Two along the
front edge and one at the rear lower corner. These guides should run in the
channels with a minimum of clearance.

The bracket-stop-door-glass is an upper window stop. My early BJ7 did not have
one and Keith Turk kindly provided me with the following description since it
is a very easy part to make. It is .165" thick sheet metal, 8"long and 5/8"
wide. Has an "L" shaped bend at one end, the bend is 3/4" on the outside and a
tick less than 5/8 on the inside. There are two holes on the long side, the
first is 3-1/4" from the inside of the "L" and the second 6-1/4". The bracket
fits just below the window regulator and the small end of the L stops the half
gear at the end of it's arc. Since you have a BJ8, you should see the holes
where it mounts on the door inner panel. Otherwise, clamp into position with
the window at the right altitude and mark the holes to drill.

Sorry, don't know the answer to your spring assist question.

Cheers,
John

On photographs of the BJ8 hood frame one can see a rather heavy spring
('Spring-assistance-hood linkage' according to the parts manual) on each
side. One end hooks into the frame , but where is the other end of the
spring attached to?
Last two questions refer to the windows. I fitted the rear glass
channel, but the window rattles freely inside the metal. Shouldn't
there be a form on lining inside the channels?
Finally: The parts manual shows an L-shaped 'bracket-stop-door glass' .
Can't find these among my bits and pieces, and can't find the place
where these should be fitted either. What is the purpose of the stop? I
do have a rubber stop at the bottom. Does the bracket stop the glass in
the upper position?
Many thanks in advance, as usual!
