----Interesting...... I grew up in Connecticut, and have been aware for some
time, that there is a small independent company there, (I think in Bridgeport)
--that has been making the best quality Shelby Cobra replicas available here
in the US, for quite a few years... I have seen a substantial number of
them, and though I am not a Cobra expert, I am told that they are made with
virtually identical components all-round as the originals. While there are
differences, I have found them virtually indistinguishable from the
originals.
--There has to be a connection.

AC Cars is to build a new factory in the USA Britain's oldest sports car
company.
AC cars, is to build its first US manufacturing plant in Bridgport,
Connecticut.
The company plans to build about 50 cars in the first year, increasing
production to 700 to 800 cars a year after five years.
According to chairman Alan Lubinsky.
The new factory will occupy 40,000 square feet and create 141 jobs, at a
cost
of around $4.5 million US dollars.
