Many thanks to Carlos, Charley, Tom, Fred and Rich for the advice on sealing.
It pertained to hot air entering my BN1 cabin through the gearshift hole.
Fred, in particular, provided excellent in-depth details on sealing overall.
Also, Rich's pictures were most helpful
I ended up using closed-cell black weather stripping. It was wrapped around
the outside of the rubber boot., in the boot groove that is adjacent to the
tunnel cover opening. The weather stripping is 1/2" thick and 1" wide. The
rug covers most of it. This fix seems to work, although the boot buckles a
bit. Time will tell.
Thanks,
Ben
