I recently replaced the 20 year old XZX's (which still looked like new) on 
one of my cars. 

The safety reason was one of my main concerns for doing it but the 
improvement in ride quality is tremendous. I wish I had changed them ten years 
ago.

It is too much risk for safety and the investments we have in these cars to 
run old tires. 

My .02 worth.
