Hello David
There the yet another way to go Caerbont Automotive Instruments in the UK ,
the folks to bought out Smith's, produce an excellent electronic speedometer.
This speedometer can very easily be adjusted to run with the later Toyota
transmissions (I believe 94 and later). The bezel is identical to the speedo
in my
BJ8 although the lettering is slightly larger (and CAI was kind enough to
include
kph). There are other options which allow the CAI speedometer to be adapted
to a Healey - magnetic input pick up, etc.
