Here in this part of eastern North Carolina, we are pretty far from any
known Healey or British car clubs, so we have to make do with what we have.
Jeff Rose of Ahoskie, NC and I, of Havelock, met about halfway (60 miles for
each of us) in Little Washington, NC to celebrate the occasion. Two other
BJ8 owners live in Little Washington, but unfortunately they had prior
commitments. Was unable to get in touch with the two BJ8s folks in New
Bern, two more in Oriental, and one in Cedar Point.
Jeff and I had a great time eating ice cream (he a milkshake and I a
butterscoth sundae -- the choices were a bit limited, another downside of
living in the sticks), and talking Healeys. I may have convinced Jeff to
join the list. The cars attracted comments and admiration from several
people, one of whom compared them favorably with her husband's Edsel!
Reporting from eastern North Carolina, I'm Steve Byers.
