I am so sorry to here of the passing of Everett Smith.
Everett repaired my original rear quarter panels on my BN-2. These panels
were in sorry shape and the normal repair panels would not suffice. Although
we have many good metal workers on the east coast I would only trust Everett
with the task. The results are a work of perfection. The weld lines were
barely perceptible. Everett spent hours with me on the phone as I attempted
to repair the rear shroud. He actually taught me to gas weld over the phone.
I remember a lengthy discussion on the properties of a carburizing flame. He
even sent me a photo!
Everett's special knowledge of Healey sheet metal will be missed. The Healey
world has suffered a great loss.
Sincerely
Rick Neves
