Please be advised that Everett Smith, owner of Vintage Automotive
Engineering has recently passed away. You may remember Everett as a
fabricator of sheet metal repair parts from Northern California (and, I
think previously he resided in Oregon and Illinois). His web site was
www.vintageautomotive.com. He was always nothing but very kind and
patient with me in helping me figure out how to restore my rusty old
BN-7. He even gave me a couple of parts I screwed up and had to
reorder, and sent them for free on one occasion, with advice on how to
avoid the problems I had, to boot. There are many other folks in the AH
community that have been very helpful and nice, as well, but the loss of
Everett is quite a blow.
Apparently this happened recently, I think his service is this coming
Saturday.
Here is a note below from his wife, Bonnie. I had referred a fellow to
Everett and she sent me this announcement. We conversed by e-mail and
she asked me to let you all know about this sad event.

Dear Friends,
Our beloved Everett went home to be with the Lord this afternoon.
He fought a long, hard, brave fight but in the end he lost. We will all
miss him tremendously. He was the easiest of men to get along with and
was a wonderful companion and friend. He was a genius, artist and
expert craftsman and was a warm, funny and wonderful man. I can't
imagine living without him.
We will have a memorial service to celebrate his life but the time
has not been set yet. For those who can't attend, I would be glad to
read any tribute aloud at the service.

Dear friends of Everett,
There will be a celebration of Everett's life service this coming
Saturday at 1:00 at the Horse Creek Community Church (on Highway 96
about 15 miles up river (east) of us). Anyone that wants to will be
invited to read or say something about their memories of Everett.
The ladies of the Church are providing some kind of food and
refreshments afterward and everyone is invited to attend.
