Sorry, me again! I checked the archive, but no luck.
Manual says "NOTE: When reassembling the starter drive the locating nut
must be re-caulked to the armature shaft."
I presume the 'locating nut' is actually what the manual calls the Shaft
Nut that is locked with a split pin. I'm guessing that, as this can only
be tightened to the nearest split pin hole, it needs to be 'gummed up'
to stop it rattling. Am I anywhere near the truth?
If I'm right, what is it that I use to do the caulking? Something
special, or a spot of bathroom silicone sealant?
