My "Lempert" gearset came with specific breakin instructions. I don't have
them handy but if I recall breakin involved short, then increasingly longer
runs
with a sufficient cooling period in between (which implied the gears would
run hot until fully broken-in). After a couple hundred miles an oil change was
required.
If you're sure you set to specs and there isn't a lot of noise you're probably
OK.
Be sure to complete the breakin and change the oil before your trip (check the
oil, if it's really burnt you could have a problem).
