All-knowing listers .......
Took the BJ8 out for a spin tonight.
When driving conservatively, it is
pleasant and reliable.
Pushed it a bit harder than normal (for me).
At 4000+ rpm, it misses on hard accelleration.
Downshifting at higher-than-normal rpms causes
an occasional backfire. Four times I had to
screw in the damper atop the front carburetor
but not the rear one.
There is oil in the dampers (is it too light?), timing is nominal,
carbs were set up balanced and per the manual.
Thoughts?
TIA.
