I had the same problem with my car. I would only get about a thousand miles or less between failures. I did get an answer from Moss and Eric Grunden of Absolutely British, who did the installation and researched the issue with Mallory. The problem was grounding of the distributor. I just ran a ground wire from the screw that connects the condenser to the distributor to the chassis. So far, there have been no further problems. I also carry at least two spares just in case.
