Good morning Patton,

Glad you arrived home safely - obviously you did allow enough time to make
your flight. It IS interesting to put faces with names! That was a fun show,
probably the best turnout I've seen in the four years I've gone to it. They do
a
GREAT job of organizing a very nice event. Spent quite a bit of time chatting
with Len Hartnett, a really nice guy. Also David Nock.

I had at least three people comment that my car looked strange because it
"had a MkII hood emblem but did NOT have windup windows". One went so far as to
remark under his breath that he did not think the car was "right"! So, you
could have bowled me over with a feather when the awards were presented - my
old
rally warhorse, with rollbar and a few dents, took third (missing second by
only one vote) in the AH3000 class, over at least eight spotless show cars. It
WAS a "first time entry" and it WAS the only tricarb, both of which must have
helped immensely.

A fun day until my drive home, 70 miles of nursing a VERY hot car - 2500 in
OD in the slow lane served to keep the needle stabilized at 211.5 degrees!
Clearly I have some cooling issues to work on.

Dick Hosmer
