Aluminium Windshield Posts

As a couple of you know, I place a nice chip in the new paint on the
right windshield post of my car.  It was suggested that instead of
trying to match the paint, buff them out.  Can anyone point me to a
picture of this done?  Are all of the windshield posts aluminium?
