License plates are a big hobby in the US. Perhaps you could contact a
collector who could direct you to a source for UK plates. I was able to
obtain 1950 plates at a swap meet and 1963 plates on ebay. There are
numerous sites on the internet pertaining to vintage plates. There are,
also, vintage British plates on ebay
