Hi Jim,
I'm presuming that you are using the original Lucas FL5 (or 6 or 9) flasher
unit which is actually a very cunning piece of design work. The factory
Workshop Manual has a very clear description of its operation and is worth
reading.
The important thing is that is designed such that the pilot light only
blinks when the correct current flow is passing through the bulbs. If one
turn signal bulb is not functioning the pilot light does not blink. This
acts to notify the driver that a signal is not working.
Unfortunately the FL5 it does not suffer fools gladly and will cease to
operate if dropped or shorted out!!
I would suggest that the audible buzzer connected to your MGTC's turn signal
circuit may be actually altering the current requirements and causing the
flasher unit to behave incorrectly or perhaps the turn signal bulbs are not
of the correct wattage.
