Hi Mike,
My car was also Carmine Red and was restored as such. IMHO it is the
prettiest of all Healey reds. Pictures don't really do the color
justice. It is a much "bluer" red and parked beside Reno or Colorado,
it makes them look very orangish. I would definitely stay with that
color. Don Fisher of our Club is in the middle of a gold restoration of
a Carmine with all red trim BN1. Unfortunately that is on hold while he
recovers from a recent heart attack.
Here are some pictures of mine which I know will be removed for the copy
