I hope knowing that you are not alone, will help you in coping...
I (for no other good reason, than to completely refurb ALL components in my
car, and to remove the turn signal lever for chroming) took my trafficator
apart several years ago.... Seemed innocuous enough at the time.. -A day
later, I had become convinced that that little pile of springs, contacts and
bakelite had been designed by the devil, and was reassemble-able only
pixies...
I had worked on micro tech lab instrumentation for years, and did finally get
it reassembled properly. -But I have put it on my short list of things never
to take-apart again, if possible. I'd rate it right up there with working on
the OD, and trying to connect the fan/heater air trunks with the shroud in
place.....

Having received counseling I am now ready to move on and deal with my
problems. Have you ever noticed how many Healeys you see being sold as
project cars are missing their trafficator? Fear and hopelessness have
relegated many a Healey to the dust heap? Most of these folks did not
have this list or buds like you all. Thanks for all the advise and
