Well, I suppose you're correct or they wouldn't bother specifying. But when
I adjust my headlights, I do it on low beam and adjust them to point
straight ahead. Have I been doing that wrong all these years ? Well, not
too many years, but you know what I mean. Is that why I don't see the deer
coming from the right ?

Look at the lens and see that it is assymetric. On high beam it shines
straight but on low it deflects down and, in the case of US lights, to the
right.
