Two Roads:
Skyline Drive in Alameda County California -- Oakland, etc. where we used to
run rallies in the 50's and 60's from Lake Merritt through Tilden Park,
Redwood Park and then through such towns as Walnut Creek, Concord and
Pleasenton which were then road crossings and San Ramon was a figment of a
developers imagination. (I got my Boy Scout Cycling Merit Badge because I
made a bicycle trip to the wilds of Walnut Creek in 1955!) Always ended up
at a beer and Pizza joint -- actually won one and placed second in
another. - Still have the trophies! And, I am sure that the Colorado
contingent will attest to almost any road leaving Denver going up through
the old gold mining towns, Peak to Peak highway and the roads up to the
three legal casinos. The Oakland roads because of nostalgia and the Colorado
ones because of breathtaking beauty.
BTW I like this thread much better than the B-J P@@@@ contest that has taken
way too much of my time to delete.
