Additional notes on the hood latch: The wavy plate on your BN4 is black, but
you will see it as unpainted zinc as are its bolts on 3000s onward.
The spring retaining cup on the striker pin is zinc, and the black spring on
the striker pin should have a thin vertical red stipe hand painted on it.
The hood release return spring is black, and should have a black rubber tube
covering it. The release handle rod, the pivot, and rod to the latch are all
black, all with zinc hardware. The light spring on the release handle rod
itself, is black.
....It's a lot of 'bits' huh?

Bonnet safety catch assemblies are body colour, Bonnet latch pin is zinc
plated, spring is black, wavy W shaped piece is black, sliding bonnet latch,
spacers, bolts are zinc, mounting plate to body is body colour. Boot latch,
striker, fastenes, everything are body colour. Prop rods are black, their
mounting washers, clevis pins and split pins are zinc.
