Steering Box 1960 Mk I

I am trying to get to the adjusting screws on my 1960 MkI steering box,
but am feeling very stupid.  The cold air intake sits directly on top
of the steering box and prevents me from getting to the top of it.  If
I have to remove the cold air intake to get to the box, do I also have 
to
remove the grille in order to remove the cold air intake.

Does anyone have an easier way to get to the steering box?
