I recently went through this exercise after installing a 3.54 rearend in my BJ8.
Your choices are:
1) have a specialist build an inline ratio converter
2) have the speedo re-geared
I opted for #2, done by Palo Alto Speedometer. Can't help you on #1, but try a
web
search on "speedo ratio converter" and you should get a few hits. Given that
17% is
kind of an oddball, you may need to go this route.
