Those blades can be confusing....
Standing in front of the car, looking at the front of the engine, The arms of
the blades are closest to you (+ closest to the radiator). Correctly
installed, the blades themselves are riveted to the backs of the blade arms.
Or, If you like, (again looking at if from the front) as each blade rotates to
the 12 o'clock position, the straight edge of the blade is on your right, and
the curved edge is (of course) to the left. ant each blade is curled toward
the rear of the car.
If I understand you correctly, you do have it correct, and yes, the blade
pulls air through the radiator and pushes it back over the engine and more
importantly, the carbs..
