Hi,
-Don't mean to bombard the list, but I've been away, and have collected a few
issues that had piled up in the interim...
Unfortunately, the treads for the brass nut that hold the stator tube and
olive in place on the front of my steering box is stripped (not the nut, the
threads on the box itself). I've tried a new nut -NG. I'd like to try to
fix the problem without pulling the grille, or removing the steering column if
at all possible.
Any thoughts on how to get around / or repair this problem?
If I had to replace the front plate on the steering box (and a new plate could
be found) Do you think it could be replaced in the car without removing the
grille?
