James: Re Smitty Speedo conversion: FWIW--I'm having my speedo overhauled by Mo-Ma in Albuquerque and they are going to re-gear it for the Toyota ratio. They gave me a procedure for counting the driving wheel turns vs the speedo cable revs. They are also rebuilding my fried OEM tank sender with the leaking float. Prices seem reasonable--we'll see how the quality works out. For your sender, you might try running a ground wire from one of the brass screws on the top of the sender to a known good ground on the chassis or at the battery ground. -- Steve Gerow Pasadena CA 59 BN6 |
